i believe. in God.
i believe that whatever decision we make. we'd face the consequences of that decision.
it is by making these decisions that we'd learn from our mistakes.
whatever we choose...
God will take us to the right way.
anyhow.
i feel weird because i didn't choose the choice that normal church grown christians would pick. that is, God has a plan for every detail in our lives. he knows the exact moment that one of our hairs would fall off, he knows when we'd lose that wallet. he's got it all planned out...
well. both makes sense.

the inability to wake up.

typically, i'd have to set three alarmclocks in addition to my cellphone in order to attempt to wake myself up. and setting them on different tables in my room.

i have this cool ability of ...
turning them all off and going back to sleep.
and not even remembering doing so.

so today, juno's church was quite fun.
this pastor came today & shared about a lady who decided to become the first woman to ever swim the distance between long beach and catalina island.
however, after 16 hours of nonstop swimming, she gave up.
she later discovered that, had she swum 1/2 a mile more, she would've reached long beach shores.
she claims that, had she seen land (had it not been so foggy), she would probably have made it.

just gotta have faith... in the intangible.

however, she inspired many to ~~walk~~ swim in her footsteps.
and she eventually set the record - for the first woman to ever swim the distance, and beating the men's record by more than 2 hours.

believers are the same.
we walk this foggy road, accompanied by many with the same outlooks.
we don't know when god will come and deliver us.
but it's perseverence & faith that will take us through.

tokyo drift was such a cool movie =) even though it doesnt have super good looking people driving (guys might think otherwise..). the effects, the speed, & the cars themselves make up for it! it's understandable that characters would have accents, but the nonasians as well? haha cowboy & australian & japanese accents all in one movie.

however.

i loved it!
and do you know why?

the 350z's soo freakn sexy.

and i was clutching a pillow the entire time, partly because of the heartbreak everytime a car crashes.

during the movie production, they totalled 100+ cars. just...wow.

soo. performance was actually at 11:30AM (haha to those of you who actually let PM cross your mind. lol)

right after this gigantic meal, we went on space mountain.

then after, we paid a visit to matterhorns bobsleds. haha i & ashley's (lol) seatbelts were kind of loose, so the whole time i felt like she was going to fall out. =) but it was all just worries =D

then we went to Indiana Jones ride - i drove that cool car btw! crazy good.
(and i gotta add. nobody died) lol. law's so pro at scaring. =O

after that, we went on Pirates.
the ride got 135721 times slower, or so it seems, and we counted three Jack Sparrows, change of music, a "projection" of davy jones, and ... barbossa? seemed really little change.. but still, those figures were pretty realistic...

because the guys all got scared by the whale.
and henry & i were able to scare ashey & eunice when the whale came up.

that which we call this life by any other name would sound as hectic & overwhelming.
what's it's meaning? that's what we're all here to find out isn't it?

though they say that being a student is just a prologue to a lifelong of opportunities.
all i see right now is just an endless road of success & failures.

so what if we accomplished our goal of acing this test? there're millions more.
so what if we worked throughout the night, compromising our health & spirit just so we could keep up with the neverending demands of school.
so what if we grew up, got married, and got rich?
so what if we lived up to that american dream?

wasnt there a time when people used to trust you to be able to make everything right?
there was definitely a time when, what you say must be what it is.
there used to be a time when...i actually know what i'm doing. what has it got to this endless, pointless wandering?

what is it all about?

so we'd fulfill our dreams only to come across another. in this endless chain of goals and competition. when is this all going to cease?
when we reach that dream university?
oh yes. harvard, yale, princeton, stanford. those sound like where we're all aiming at.
but say we got in. then what?
there're more challenges to face. more all nighters to pull. more demands we have to fulfill.

must look at a bigger picture, then.
zoom out 30 years: at the age of 46. would i be the ophthalmologist that i've always wanted to become? or just some janitor sweeping the school at night?

i suppose i need to be less of a cynic.
and start believing that it all comes down to the work effort we put into everything we do.

so Taiwan for the holidays? Somewhat.
not an entirely pleasant trip, but i found it enjoyable.

i dont know why. but though i've lived in this country for almost a decade.
everything seemed so new ♥

It began with the 13 hour plane ride. The food was flat out sordid.
Just the smell of the chicken noodle (or was it?) and omelets made me plane sick. Instant noodles in the middle of the night (6pm…) was the only thing keeping me sane. it was also the most turbulent plane ride I’ve ever been in. but I had fun bouncing while doing those fantabulous bio packets.

So overall, it was bearable. On the bright side, there were exterior cameras on the plane that allowed us phenomenal views during landing & Taipei Airport is so much more sophisticated than LAX. if you look carefully, you'd see two persons from our school. far left.

they're soo cute =) this one's dented, but if you've seen the way people in taiwan drive.

so basically, besides watching the millions of people crowded in the streets, the thousands of couples the Taiwanese population is comprised of, and the constant fear of being run over by some motorcycle...(i also had constant fears of the building catching fire these entire three minutes. )
it was really exciting.

i mean fireworks. if you've actually seen some of disney's on july fourth.
this isn't that big of a deal. but counting down with the entire taipei!
so cool.

i've decided to share this. awesome recipe =)

ingredients
4 cups popcorn
1/4 cups butter/ margarine
2 tblsp light corn syrup
4 1/2 cups chex
6 tblsp packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoons vanilla

mix cereal & popcorn in bowl
microwave margarine, sugar, corn syrup, & vanilla for two min.
stir after one min.
pour over popcorn & cereal.
stir until evenly coated.
microwave for 5-6 min.
stir / scrape bowl every min.
eat it!

how many of you have judged someone simply because they had turned up in a ridicules attire, or a mismatched outfit?
or admired someone simply because they look perfect wherever they go?
what if on the inside. a person's completely different?
i gotta admit. a good appearance boosts self esteem & is easier on the eyes.
but you know what? i started all this reflecting because i saw a lady with a beard in macy's the other day. (talk about male hormones...)
i really cant imagine how she could cope with all that staring..she had a beard...more visible than anything my dad has ever had.
in my mind i was like... "oh puhlease. do us all a favor and consider waxing your face." but then..later, when i think about it. i realized that beard or no beard. she's a person. and for that. she deserves respect.even though it is an odd sight. ( oh come on. have you seen another bearded woman?) but maybe she doesnt care...and maybe she doesnt mind the staring. maybe. she likes having a beard

whatever it is. i've decided that on my part. i'm going to start looking at things differently. starting from the inside.

the one day that i went out & chilled at puente/ movies..
the one day of the three weeks that i've gone nowhere but school & home.
was the day that my sister doesn't pick up 20+ phone calls,
upon my mom's call from taiwan on my cell.
i knew that annie probably didn't just go chill at her friend's house.

that was when all sort of things popped up in my head.
i was so afraid of what i'd find at home.
or what i wouldn't find.

so at 1am
after trippin' up the stairs as if the end of the world were coming...
the fear, the panic, the horror. was all swept away when i saw her sound asleep on her bed.

yeah that's right.
that's how much i love my sis.
without an almost twin, life just wouldn't be the same.

today annie and i walked to michael's

and were trying to figure out how to make annie's halloween bumble bee costume =) when...

me: how are you going to put on your antenna?

so yesterday, while everyone's lining up for saw3.
juno, ashey, eunice, and i went to see
a movie about vengeance, pride, deceit, & obsession.
that lost me near the beginning.
even though i was extremely tired and dozed off in the middle,
it seemed like the longest movie i've ever seen.
got too much suspense, needs more action...
besides tragic deaths.

nevertheless,
i'd recommend it to people who enjoy movies that give them a "oh i get it" moment fifteen minutes after the it's over.
